The Luvaira vineyard extends for around 25,000 m2 in the municipality of San Biagio della Cima with the slopes facing southeast and southwest.
The Rossese di Dolceacqua Superiore DOC Luvaira is one of our more important crus. It was made in total purity for the first time in 2008 after three years of tests and different wine making methods, with a capillary thinning out of the grapes on the pre-selected vines to be sure to get an excellent wine.
The yield is of 4,000/5,000 kg per hectare.
The bouquet is marked by a good intensity and complexity. Its fineness makes it one of the best Rossese wines on the market. The aromas range from hints of raspberries, fruit of the strawberry tree and blackcurrant to a floral note of withered rose. Spicy hints of pink pepper, leather and tobacco can also be detected.
On the tongue it is warm but well balanced by a pleasant softness, fresh enough with good tannin and quite full bodied. There is a good equilibrium, good intensity and good aromatic persistence; it finishes with an extraordinary fineness.
